Expositional Preaching
We prioritize verse-by-verse expositional preaching so that God’s people would be shaped by God’s Spirit through God’s Word week after week. While expositional preaching should make up the primary diet of the church, occasional circumstances and needs call for biblical topical preaching.
Congregational Singing
The most important instrument on Sunday mornings is the voice of the congregation. Every area of musical worship is intentionally thought through and chosen so that the church would be positioned to build up, teach, and admonish one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that support and declare the glories of God and the truth of the sermon.
Sound Doctrine
Sound theology fuels sound and passionate doxology and lays the foundation for Christian living. We strive to teach faithfully, understanding that “what comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” – A.W. Tozer.
Meaningful Membership
God’s Word calls His people to meaningfully covenant to a local gathering of believers. In joining together as members, we stir one another up to love and good works, hold one another accountable, and use our gifts for the building up of the church.
Intentional Discipleship
We want to see believers grow in knowledge and all discernment so that they would live wisely and make disciples. Every area, from the Sunday morning gathering to small group ministry, is structured to help believers, by the Spirit, through God’s Word, to be conformed more and more to the image of Christ.
Community Outreach
We pray that Stillwater, Oklahoma would be positively impacted and reached by the gospel efforts of Hillcrest Baptist Church. This should be true through weekly local church ministry, evangelism and outreach, and the wise support of mercy organizations that are furthering the name of Jesus.
Global Missions
We long to see every tribe, tongue, and nation declare that Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We faithfully support that ambition financially, prayerfully, and through sending our own to see the gospel shine forth.
